Graphic Icons of the Twentieth Century is the theme of a series of six lectures and two study days by retired Graphic Designer, Howard Smith. They cover the period from 1900 to 1950 and are all possibly in living memory or near living memory. They are inspired by his personal interests in art, curating, and publishing over 50 years. Many are from work and clients he was involved with. Each lecture lasts an hour and is an in-depth fully researched exploration of extraordinary creativity - sometimes in unbelievable circumstances. Because the subjects are recent there is a wealth of factual information to support the stories, which are both nostalgic and entertaining. All lectures are lavishly illustrated with 4K images and many contain vintage film clips and sound.
